This is BULLSHIT...Puerto Ricans are mostly white, then mulattos the minority are blacks in PR..Thank god there is Google, and people can see this is bullshit..you must have a black complex
ReplyDeleteActually february, YOU'RE the one who's wrong and it's NOT bullshit. I live in Bridgeport, CT and I can tell you that there are a vast majority of black Puerto Ricans in the city. That's the beauty of Puerto Ricans, there's racial diversity. I bet you didn't know that Puerto Rico has a higher Black population ratio than the United States, or that African slaves surpassed the white settlers by a near 2:1 margin when the islnd was first colonialized. Most of these white Puerto Ricans immigrated from Corsica, Poland, Ireland and Germany in the 19th century; hence why there was such a boost in white population since then, and has just now begun to decline. Also keep in mind that many of these 'white' Boricuas identify themselves as such because of how they look, whereas many of them have African ancestry due to interracial mixing throughout the mixing. A close friend of mine is half black and half white, you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at her though, she looks straight up white with blue eyes and dark brown hair. Her father is black. Same concept goes for many Boricuas on the island. Please think before you speak, as you clearly know very little about our island's history. Don't worry I won't judge you, but rather call you misguided by what you see rather than what you actually know.
ReplyDeleteListen pendejos! The first inhabitants of the Puerto Rican island were the Taino Indians! Then the African slaves were brought over to the carribean. Thats how we got mixed. Plus the slave master's raped our women and thats how we got the light skin mixed in our blood. The slave master's also breeded his slaves with other slaves with a different ethnicity like sheerbliss has mentioned.
ReplyDeleteFor the uneducated, here's some info..
Africans weren't the only slaves for sale bavk in the fay buddy. There were Irish slaves, too. Google the West Indies/ Irish slave trade in the Carribean. Im a light skin PR with Spaniard blood in my family tree thats why my complexion is so light. Taino, Spaniard, and African! I love being Puerto Rican
First of christopher columbus said himself the entire carribean were dark .the first spanish in spain were dark.the entire world.do your research.
